We are currently seeking a Research Associate II to join the LifeNet Health team in our Virginia Beach, VA location.
The Research Associate participates in the planning, executing, documenting and reporting of research and validation efforts. Performs complex testing with cell or tissue samples. Maintains essential laboratory records. Monitors calibrations of lab equipment.
You would be expected to perform all tasks assigned to you, including but not limited to:
Develops protocols and experimental designs required to support assigned research, product development, and validation initiatives under minimal supervision. Conducts experiments independently to support new products and technology development, including associated process/equipment development and optimization.Documents project progress according to departmental protocols. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data, interprets results and summarizes collected data into effective technical reports under minimal supervision. Develops assays and protocols pertaining to research objectives as needed. Conducts appropriate literature reviews when necessary to begin or support research projects and reports.Oversees equipment qualification, calibration, and preventive maintenance according to established plan. Performs research and maintains laboratory records in compliance with LifeNet policy and Good Laboratory Practices.Provides training to R&D, Production, QC, and contract laboratory personnel on new or revised test methods, assays, and processing procedures. Provides timely and effective communication (written and oral) of procedures, observations, and results.Performs instrument and assay trouble-shooting, as well as analytical problem solving.Provides effective technical training and mentoring to R&D Senior Technicians.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences or related area of study7 years related work experience in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or related fieldProficient in laboratory skillsProficient in Microsoft officePreferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Life Sciences or a related area of study
