We are currently seeking a R&D Machinist to join the LifeNet Health team in our Virginia Beach, VA location.
The R&D Machinist efficiently operates machinery and uses precision instruments to manufacture, assemble, and repair equipment/tooling.
You would be expected to perform all tasks assigned to you, including but not limited to:
Accurately fabricates engineering prototype equipment and tooling equipment for R&D. Performs modifications to existing power tooling as required for R&D and Tissue Operations, per drawings, samples, and/or verbal instructions. Repairs production equipment as assigned to meet drawing specifications or per sample. Maintains precision tooling, equipment, and machinery in proper working condition. Performs mechanical inspection of new prototype and/or production equipment purchased from outside vendors and items worked or manufactured in house for prototype and/or production use.. Assist Product Development staff with set-up and operation of mini CNC equipment as assigned.Assists in the maintenance of machine shop and Product Development equipment.Assists in Product Development and Research projects as may be determined appropriate.Performs in-house projects and machine work using the priorities set by the machine shop team leaderMinimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED2 years Machine Shop/Job Shop Prototype Machining and Assembly Environment Experience1 Year CNC Programming and Machining Experiencing
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology; Technical Operations or relatedCNC Certificate4 years in a Machine Shop/Job Shop Prototype Machining and Assembly Environment Experience3 years CNC programming and machining experiencePrevious experience with CAD/SolidWorks
