We are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join the LifeNet Health team in our Virginia Beach, VA location.
The Design Engineer designs and develops tooling and automated equipment for new and existing products and processes. Works with customers to evaluate performance and create solutions to improve existing tooling and process equipment. Provides design engineering expertise to project teams to translate conceptual designs into functional equipment and products. Ensures compliance with LifeNet QS/RA standards in allograft design and development duties.
You would be expected to perform all tasks assigned to you, including but not limited to:
Design and develop tooling ranging from simple fixturing to complex automated equipment for new and existing products and processes.Manage design projects effectively and efficiently through all phases from concept through implementation.Responsible for producing Solid Works designs, drawings and assemblies, bills of materials, hands-on construction of prototypes and other related tasks.Evaluate equipment and/or product performance and creates solutions to improve existing tooling and processes.Plan, assist, and coordinate prototype experiments and test programs.Provide design engineering support to project teams and continuous improvement efforts.Support and interface with Scientists, Project Leader, Equipment Technicians, Production Technicians and vendors.Maintain LifeNet Health intellectual property handbook for information, designs, and testing. Maintain design and development records in accordance with written procedures.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering2 years product or tool design; three dimensional computer aided design and drawing experience using a CAD system4 years Medical, Industrial or manufacturing experience in research, set-up and/or operationsPreferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in tissue banking, tissue research, medical device or relatedPrevious experience in CNC programmingGet to Know LifeNet Health:
